BURR COMPATIBILITY FAQ
Coffee grinder burr compatibility FAQ.
Find answers about replacement burr sizes, mounting PCD and version-specific fit before choosing your burrs.
How do I find compatible burrs for my coffee grinder?
Start with the exact grinder model and revision, then check the burr option listed for that model. Before replacing the burrs, confirm the mounting system, bore, seating height, mounting PCD and rotation. Select your grinder in the finder to see the available references and the conditions that still need checking. Check your grinder model ↗
Are all 64 mm grinder burrs interchangeable?
No. A 64 mm outer diameter does not establish compatibility. Burrs with the same nominal diameter can differ in bore, thickness, mounting PCD, screw seats, locating features and rotation. Check the exact burr option against your grinder and carrier; the same checks apply to 83 mm, 98 mm and other sizes.
Which burr dimensions should I measure before ordering replacements?
Record outer diameter D, bore d, thickness and seating height, plus mounting PCD, hole count and screw-seat details. Identify the two burrs separately and photograph the measuring points. Power off and unplug the grinder before removal and follow its service instructions. This tool uses nominal diameter to find candidate series; it does not validate the full mounting interface. See how to measure grinder burrs ↗
What is mounting PCD on a grinder burr?
PCD means pitch circle diameter: the diameter of the circle passing through the centres of the mounting holes. It defines the position of those holes, rather than the distance between two adjacent holes. Record PCD and hole count along with hole size and screw-seat geometry, then compare them with the approved burr and carrier drawings.
Can Blind burrs replace burrs with mounting holes?
Do not assume they are interchangeable. Blind mounting and through-hole mounting use different fastening arrangements, so the carrier and exact burr option must be checked. Choose the mounting category that matches your grinder. If the carrier has been changed or the mounting system is unclear, request a fit review before ordering.
Can I install burrs if the measured dimensions differ slightly?
A small difference is not enough to confirm fit. Whether it is acceptable depends on the specified measuring points, engineering drawing and tolerances for that burr and carrier. Keep the actual readings and photos. This tool does not apply a universal tolerance or treat a nearby nominal size as an approved replacement.
Will compatible replacement burrs work for both espresso and filter coffee?
Mechanical compatibility alone does not establish brewing suitability. First confirm that the burrs fit the grinder, then check the specific tooth geometry and intended grinding range for espresso, filter or both. Selecting a brewing preference in this tool adds context to your enquiry; it does not confirm mechanical fit or a particular cup result.
Does a grinder listing confirm LeBrew HyperBurrs compatibility?
Check the listing status. A LeBrew-listed model appears on the linked product page, but still needs version and mounting checks. A manufacturer-specification entry only describes the original grinder burrs and does not confirm LeBrew HyperBurrs fit. Neither status represents an independent installation test covering every revision or modification. Browse the burr compatibility directory ↗
How can I check burr compatibility for an unlisted or modified grinder?
Prepare the complete model and revision, modification details and original burr part numbers. Add dimensions, mounting PCD and hole count, rotation with its viewing direction, and photos of both burr faces, the side and the carrier. Use the fit enquiry to request a review. A missing directory entry does not establish incompatibility.
Can this burr finder check both flat and conical grinder burrs?
The dimension search currently provides flat-burr candidate series. Conical burrs require separate inner and outer burr pairing, shaft and mounting records; those fit records are not available in this preview. A listed conical grinder specification is reference information only. Request a manual fit review for conical burr replacements.
